Hometown Social Club Radio // Cold City Cuts // Hot Gem // Paul Murphy

Here are the individual features of the show and we thank everyone for their input.  The music has blown us away this month.  No short supply of goodness…

This months classic track: Maurice Joshua – This is Acid

Featured label: Glasgow’s Hot Gem.

Hot Gem  is a small independent label based in Glasgow, supported by partners in Hamburg.

Hot Gem was initially set up late 2013 to release management roster artists, but is now open to working with all artists, as long as it includes an electronic element and a point of difference.

Current artist releases are Machines in Heaven, with forthcoming releases from Fiona Soe Paing, Modifier, Yutani, Monkoora and El Topo, the latter two later this year and early next year.

In its relatively short life span Hot Gem has had releases used to soundtrack a Mulberry campaign, as well as a prime time tv advertising campaign slot with a Scottish newspaper, as well as numerous festival showcase pieces, some British tv, as well as an International award winning film soundtrack (Stripped the Documentary). Hot Gem has also had artists asked down to Red Bull studios to record.

Big Up Hot Gem!

We played a few tunes from the label including the superb and beautiful new Machines in Heaven single “Displacer”

and  also “Hearts” by Atom Tree

FIONA SOE PAING  – Hotgems most recent addition

Hotgem are more than a little excited to welcome the extraordinarly talented Fiona Soe Paing to Hot Gem.

Bigged up by the likes if Vince Clarke (Depeche Mode) & Christ (ex Boards of canada), Fiona is certainly one to watch. Her single ‘Heartbeat’ will be released 19th of June, LP to follow soon. Meanwhile feast your eyes on this incredible trailer for her stunning show (animation designed by her partner in crime Zennor Alexander) ‪#‎AlienLullabies‬ which you can catch at the Made in Scotland Showcase, Edinburgh Festival Fringe – Summerhall. Performance dates: 12-16 and 19-23 August.

All the best to Clair and everyone on Hot Gem!

Hometown Social Club Resident Mix

Resident mix duties we’re expertly dealt with by Paul Murphy – Check out his full mix here:

Guest Mix and Interview – Cold City Cuts

Spanking new Glasgow digital house label, Cold City Cuts are in the building!

Fresh from the launch which included DJ sets from DJ Cold City Cuts, Alex-Ander and Jamie Thomson, plus a live set from Sirrahttam –

This is a label not to be overlooked!

When we first heard about this Label and who indeed was responsible for it’s creation, we couldn’t wait to listen.   The music was as expected of an exceptional high standard as we knew it would be…

We got the founder David Fleming (DJ Cold City Cuts) into the studio to find out more about his latest Project.  Those who tuned in would have heard it live on Regal Radio (Hometown Social Club) – Monday 1st June 2015 10pm.  This radio show will be available soon on demand at www.radiomagnetic.com

He provided us with a cracking guest mix also feat. forthcoming releases…

And we had a wee chat…

Huge thank you to David for the Mix and letting us find out more about Cold City Cuts!  We wish you all the best for the future and look forward to upcoming releases on the label.

Demos: Please send decent quality audio files or Soundcloud links to coldcitycuts@live.com for consideration.
